Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk continue to hold back Russian attempts to advance deeper into the town. Active fighting is ongoing, and the Russian forces are suffering heavy losses, but they have not stopped their assaults, according to the 7th Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces.
As of midday on November 27, clashes are continuing along the entire railway line. Engagements continue in the central part of Pokrovsk, where at least 21 Russian soldiers were eliminated in the past 24 hours. South of the railway line, the 425th Separate Assault Regiment Skelia and other units are conducting raiding operations.
"FPV operators are targeting enemy personnel and equipment in the town, which the enemy tries to hide among buildings after moving into Pokrovsk," the statement said. The Russian troops are also attempting to push into the northern part of the town, but many of their forces are being lost even at the stage of buildup.
"Russian forces are risking their lives to gather troops and prepare the groundwork for further offensives, including setting up satellite communications. Our troops are monitoring and disrupting these actions," the corps added.
Brigadier General Yevhen Lasiichuk, commander of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces, said that the defense of Pokrovsk involves units from the Air Assault Forces, Ground Forces, Marine Corps, assault units, and separate units from the SBU, unmanned systems forces, Special Operations Forces, and the National Guard.
According to the Eastern Operational Command, due to staggering losses, Russia is forced to send its reserve forces to assault Pokrovsk. Meanwhile, the Armed Forces have organized defensive corridors to Myrnohrad to supply defenders and evacuate the wounded.
Over the past 24 hours, according to the General Staff, Russian forces attempted 57 assaults on Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk direction and within the town. Overall, the situation for the Russian forces is bleak: at this rate, they might capture Donbas only by August 2027.
