Due to staggering losses, Russia is forced to throw its reserve forces at the assault on Pokrovsk. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have also managed to organize defensive corridors to Myrnohrad to deliver all necessary supplies to the defenders and evacuate the wounded, according to the Skhid Military Grouping on Facebook.
"In Pokrovsk, search-and-strike operations are ongoing to identify and eliminate Russian invaders. Fighting is taking place in the city, and the occupiers are also sending small groups into the central part of Pokrovsk, whose task is to create imagery for propaganda media," the defenders reported.
The Russian army is attempting to penetrate the southern part of the city, taking advantage of the weather conditions. At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are preventing the enemy from advancing to the north.
"The invaders planned to capture Pokrovsk by September. Now it is the end of November, but fighting in the city continues. As a result of fierce battles, the enemy is suffering huge losses and is already forced to use its reserves," the defenders noted.
In addition, the enemy is trying to cut off logistics between Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. The Russian forces aim to enter Myrnohrad, but the Defense Forces are disrupting the enemy’s offensive plans, destroying both troops and equipment.
"Engineering units have organized defensive corridors with nets in areas where this was possible. Routes for moving equipment have been brought as close as possible to the front line and are covered by air defense forces. These same corridors are also used for evacuation," the defenders said.
In areas where ground logistics are too dangerous, Ukrainian defenders are using heavy drones and ground robotic systems. These systems are also employed to supply positions with everything necessary and evacuate the wounded.
The defenders emphasized that there is no encirclement of Ukrainian troops, and logistics, though complicated, is being provided in the required volume.
Social media is currently spreading information claiming that Ukrainian defenders in Myrnohrad are supposedly only 1.5 km from encirclement, but in reality, there is a multi-kilometer "gray zone."
Fighting for Pokrovsk
The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest sector on the front. The Russian troops are attempting to encircle Pokrovsk from multiple directions and are sending additional forces there.
The Russian forces took advantage of unfavorable weather conditions, including thick fog, and penetrated Pokrovsk. Currently, there are over 300 invaders in the city.
According to the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, Ukrainian defenders are holding positions in the center of Pokrovsk and have cleared the areas around the railway station, the pedagogical college, and Sobornyi Square of enemy forces. The Russian troops have failed to establish a foothold.
