Iran has at least several air defense systems that can defend the sky in the event of an Israeli attack, reports Defense Express.

The source notes that there is limited information available in the public domain about Iran's air defense. However, there are several intriguing aspects to consider.

In particular, it is known that the Iranian military possesses 10 Soviet-era S-200 anti-aircraft missile systems and 32 S-300PMU systems. The latter were delivered to Iran by Russia's Rostec in 2015, but there is no information available on how Iran acquired the S-200 systems.

Iran also has the Bavar-373 air defense system, which was only unveiled in 2019. According to unofficial data, Iran may have a total of 40 such systems.

The actual capabilities of the Bavar-373 system are unknown. There is only information from Iranians themselves, who boast that the systems are "better than the Russian S-400."

Moreover, as reported by Defense Express, Iran possesses medium-range air defense systems, including 50 MIM-23B I-Hawk and nine Chinese HQ-2 systems, as well as an undisclosed number of Iranian Talash/15th Khordad systems (claimed firing range up to 150 kilometers).

Iran has the largest number of short-range air defense systems at its disposal, including 29 Tor-M1 complexes and 250 Chinese FM-80 systems.

Israel's strike on Iran

On the night of April 13-14, Iran launched a massive strike against Israel. Overall, the country deployed over 300 drones and missiles, including ballistic ones.

Such an attack did not inflict significant damage on Israel, as almost all targets were intercepted by the anti-aircraft defense.

Today, April 15, Israeli authorities were deliberating on a response to such a strike. What exactly it will be - is still unknown.
