Russians launched a combined attack on Ukraine overnight on February 7 and into the morning, with western regions primarily targeted, according to the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Force.
During the night, monitoring channels reported that Russia had scrambled Tu-95MS, Tu-160, and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers. Closer to dawn, the enemy launched cruise missiles, which entered Ukrainian airspace after 6 a.m., a fact later officially confirmed.
According to the military, the missiles entered through the Kherson region and then headed toward western regions. Monitoring channels noted that they were following the same trajectory as the Kalibr missiles launched overnight.
Based on updates from the Air Force and local authorities, missiles were detected in at least the Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions in western Ukraine.
At the same time, the enemy continues to attack cities with strike drones. Explosions were heard in Burshtyn and Rivne within the past hour alone. In Rivne, a second series of explosions was reported at around 7:15 a.m.
Attack on Ukraine on February 7
It should be noted that this was not the first time on February 7 that Russia targeted western Ukraine. Overnight, the enemy also launched drones and Kalibr cruise missiles in that direction. Explosions were reported in at least Burshtyn and Vinnytsia amid the attack.
