How Russia is attacking
According to the military, the occupiers attempted drone attacks on Ukraine throughout February 6. By evening, the number of UAVs over Ukraine increased significantly.
From 10:33 PM Kyiv time, the Air Forces recorded both small and large groups of drones over the Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.
Monitoring channels reported that around 02:30 AM Kyiv time on February 7, roughly 200 drones were over Ukraine. Detailed drone tracking information is available below.
During the night, reports also emerged that Russia deployed Kalibr missile launchers to the Black Sea and, around 02:40 AM Kyiv time, launched cruise missiles at Ukraine. By 03:13 AM Kyiv time, hostile targets were recorded over the Mykolaiv region, prompting a nationwide air raid alert. About 40 minutes later, missiles were already over the western regions, including Khmelnytskyi, followed by Ivano-Frankivsk.

While tracking Kalibr missiles toward Burshtyn, the military also reported a high-speed target moving from Odesa toward Vinnytsia. Channels speculated that it could have been a Zircon missile.
In addition, monitoring channels reported the takeoff of strategic bombers Tu-95MS, Tu-160, and Tu-22M3. After 6 AM Kyiv time, the first cruise missiles entered through the Kherson region and then headed toward western Ukraine.

Regions targeted by Russia
Volyn region
Volyn Regional Military Administration head Roman Romanyuk said that over the past 24 hours, air raid alerts were repeatedly sounded in every district of the region due to Shahed drones.
According to his post at 11:54 PM Kyiv time, one of the attacks damaged a critical infrastructure facility in the region.
Other western regions
Around 4 AM Kyiv time, a series of explosions shook Burshtyn in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, while Kalibr missiles were heading toward the city. Almost immediately afterward, loud explosions were reported in Vinnytsia. The military noted a high-speed target, and monitoring channels suggested it could have been a Zircon missile. Shortly after, drones began heading toward Vinnytsia.
At 05:35 AM Kyiv time, Burshtyn experienced its sixth explosion since the start of the night.
At 06:55 AM Kyiv time, explosions were reported in Rivne, following another blast in Burshtyn. At the same time, the enemy continues to target western Ukraine with drones and missiles.
Kharkiv
On the night of February 7 at 02:37 AM Kyiv time, it was reported that Russia struck Kharkiv with a drone. Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the impact was recorded in the Kholodnogirskyi district.
Kropyvnytskyi
A few minutes after the attack on Kharkiv, explosions were heard in Kropyvnytskyi.
Large-scale attacks on Ukraine
Since autumn 2025, Russia has resumed combined strikes on Ukraine, with energy infrastructure as a primary target.
One of the latest such attacks occurred on the night of February 3. Russian forces launched a wave of drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles. At least Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Vinnytsia came under attack.
In Kyiv, damage was reported across five districts, including residential buildings, a kindergarten, a gas station, and other facilities.
Kharkiv also faced several hours of drone and missile strikes. Russia deliberately targeted energy infrastructure during freezing temperatures, forcing utility workers to drain water, leaving 820 buildings without heating.
