'Western partners do not force Ukraine to negotiate with Russia' - Ukrainian National Security Council
Western partners are not pressuring Ukraine to negotiate with the aggressor state Russia, referring to an interview with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, IlSussidiario informed.
According to Danilov, talks about possible negotiations with the occupying country exist "only on the internet."
"We have not been instructed to conduct negotiations," he said.
In addition, Danilov responded to the peace mission initiated by Pope Francis. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) believes that if "the Pope is ready to shake hands with the killer of 500 Ukrainian children, then something bad and anti-Christian is happening in this world."
Danilov is convinced that Russia has no alternative but to be "defeated on Ukrainian soil."
Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia
In 2022, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy adopted a decision of the NSDC on the impossibility of negotiations with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
According to the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, Ukraine does not plan to respond to the "negotiating nonsense" of the Russians, as there is no sense in it.
For negotiations to resume, Russia must:
- Completely leave the territory of Ukraine.
- Change its political elite.
- Acknowledge war crimes.
- Hand over the organizers of the war to the tribunal.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, the Lebanese publication L'Orient-Le Jour wrote that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed allegedly wants to arrange a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.
In response to this information, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, noted that Ukraine is ready to engage in dialogue only with countries that respect the UN status. Russia is not such a state.
