West must ensure Russia's defeat in Ukraine - UK Defense Minister
The West must ensure Russia's defeat in Ukraine, otherwise, it risks being attacked by dictatorial regimes such as China, according to UK Defense Minister Grant Shapps.
According to him, regimes that do not believe in democracy are watching the war in Ukraine and may launch attacks on Western countries if they decide that they have "run out of puff."
"Regimes who do not believe in democracy are watching, and we need to demonstrate that the democratic path is the path that always wins," he says.
Shapps says that the UK is "living in more and more dangerous times" and that last month recruitment in the army more than doubled amid growing fears of confrontation with Moscow.
Russia's attack on NATO
Recently, Western media reported on Russia's plans to attack NATO countries. In particular, scenarios and infographics have been published. Meanwhile, officials have already begun to call for preparations for a possible war.
The discussion began after the publication of the German tabloid Bild, which allegedly received a secret document, Alliance Defense 2025.
Also, the head of Germany's Federal Intelligence Service, Bruno Kahl, said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin "would not hesitate" to attack NATO. If Ukraine were forced to surrender, it would not satisfy the desire of the Russian authorities.
