The Parliament of Wales recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide against the Ukrainian people, reports the Embassy of Ukraine to the UK.

"We are grateful to the Welsh Parliament and the Counsel General of Wales and Minister for the Constitution for recognizing the 1932–1933 Holodomor in Ukraine as genocide committed against Ukrainians. It’s a significant milestone in restoring historical justice and raising awareness about the millions of innocent victims!" stated the post on Twitter.

Recognizing Holodomor as genocide

A number of countries have already recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people, including Italy, Britain, Croatia, the Netherlands, and others.

Recently, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.
