Representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine held a meeting with a US delegation led by Tyler Brace, Senior Advisor of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Foreign Relations, and an advisor to Senator Jim Risch, according to the press service of the Office of the President.

On the Ukrainian side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Heads of the Presidential Office Ihor Brusylo and Pavlo Palisa, as well as Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Anna Gvozdiar.

The Ukrainian side emphasized that military and financial assistance from the United States has been a key factor in Ukraine's ability to resist Russian aggression, and that it is crucial for this support to continue.

The American delegation acknowledged Ukraine's consistent readiness for an unconditional ceasefire and for achieving a just peace.

"Ukraine has publicly declared its readiness for an unconditional ceasefire of any duration, but Russia remains the main obstacle in this process," Brusylo stated.

The parties also discussed legislative initiatives being developed by US senators that could help bring about a just and lasting peace.

The meeting also addressed the agreement on the creation of a US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund. Both sides noted that it has become a solid foundation for expanding cooperation between the United States and Ukraine. In particular, they discussed the further development of collaboration in various areas, especially in strengthening military capabilities and trade.

Minerals deal

On May 1, Ukraine and the United States signed an agreement to establish a joint Investment Fund. Just a week later, on May 8, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament - ed.) ratified the agreement, and on May 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the corresponding law, thereby completing the process.

At the time, First Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko explained that the remaining agreements will be commercial and will be signed not by the government but by relevant business entities.
