'We will definitely restore it' - McDonald's after Russian attack
On the morning of January 18, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles, killing people and damaging real estate. The Lukianivska metro station and buildings located near it were heavily damaged. This includes the McDonald's fast food restaurant.

In a post that appeared on the McDonald's Ukraine page on the social network X (formerly Twitter), representatives of the chain noted that, fortunately, none of their employees were injured in the attack. Everyone managed to comply with the security protocols in place at the restaurants in Ukraine and evacuated to the subway before the restaurant was damaged.
In a statement, the press service said that the restaurant was damaged, but it is not yet possible to say how significant the damage was.
"Currently, our team is working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and we will definitely restore our restaurant in Lukianivka," the post reads.
The company also reminded us that the restaurant at Lukyanivska metro station is one of the first establishments of the chain in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in the comments, users thanked the chain's representatives for strictly adhering to safety protocols during air raids.

Russian attack on Kyiv on January 18
A pipeline, buildings, and cars are damaged in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv. An administrative building, a business center, and several shops were partially destroyed. A fire broke out in one of the buildings and has been extinguished.
The shelling set at least three cars on fire and damaged ten more.
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, as of 8:20 a.m., four people were reported dead in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The State Emergency Service reported three dead and three wounded.
Kyivvodokanal (Kyiv water supply system - ed.) specialists have localized the damage to the pipeline and are gradually restoring pressure in the network, but some consumers are still without a water supply.
The air alert was announced at 5:50 am due to the threat of ballistic missiles. Air defense was activated in the city. Debris fell in the Desnianskyi district.
