British Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Harris, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, stated that the UK has delivered 95% of the promised weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since July. The situation remains critical, which is why partners need to act swiftly in assisting Kyiv.

Harris noted that he understands that sometimes partners are unsure whether they are providing all the support they promise. In the case of the UK, Defense Minister John Healy, who took office with the new government, initiated a new process to ensure that the AFU received all the supplies London had promised to expedite in July.

“We know the situation is critical, and partners must work quickly to support Ukraine. What we promised, we have delivered; we have made it happen,” Harris added.

UK's assistance to Ukraine

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the UK has become one of Ukraine's leading partners in defense and security. The British government supplies Ukraine with a wide range of military equipment, including long-range Storm Shadow missiles.

In addition to military equipment, the UK provides training to Ukrainian soldiers on its territory.

Earlier this October, London granted Kyiv £3.5 billion (approximately $4.5 billion) to purchase advanced military equipment from British manufacturers.
