The Ministry of Defense will increase the production of mines for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Ukraine’s air defense of the defense-industrial complex (OPK) will be strengthened, according to a Telegram post by Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Denys Shmyhal.

He reported on a meeting with mine manufacturers, during which their needs were discussed, as well as issues that require resolution.

"We have received requests from the soldiers for a large number of mines to deter enemy advances and destroy their armored vehicles and personnel. On our part, the Ministry is ready to fully support manufacturers in scaling up and developing production," Shmyhal emphasized.

He added that he set a number of tasks and expects changes in the near future that will adapt production processes to wartime conditions and the standards of Ukraine’s allies.

The minister also reported holding a meeting dedicated to the air defense of Ukrainian defense-industrial enterprises. He noted that the Ministry of Defense’s goal is to create conditions for their safest possible operation.

Weapons for Ukraine

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that six NATO countries financed four packages of defensive support for Ukraine totaling more than $2 billion.

Earlier, RBC‑Ukraine reported that the US and NATO launched a new format for providing military aid to Ukraine in early August. It concerns PURL, which allows financing American weapons through contributions from Alliance member states.

In addition, US President Donald Trump said that the United States will transfer weapons to Ukraine "worth billions of dollars." They will be purchased and distributed by NATO member countries.
