'We can do much more': IDF chief comments on strike against Iran
Israel struck Iran's strategic systems, utilizing only part of its capabilities, according to Herzi Halevi, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Israel.
On Saturday, October 26, an officer conducted a situational assessment after the strike on Iran with members of the General Staff Forum at a military headquarters in Kirya.
Following the meeting, Herzi Halevi stated, "Our message is very, very clear, and it connects with events that have occurred throughout the Middle East in recent months."
He assured that "any threat, anywhere, at any time, we will know how to reach it, we will know how to strike," adding, "this message is now significantly reinforced."
"We have used only a portion of our capabilities; we can do much more. We struck strategic systems in Iran, which carry great importance, and we will now see how things develop. We are prepared for all scenarios in every arena," the IDF chief said.
Large-scale shelling of Iran
In recent months, tensions in the Middle East have reached a peak. This year, Iran has already launched ballistic missile attacks against Israeli territory twice. Tel Aviv has threatened a harsh response.
On Saturday, October 26, the IDF targeted a number of sites in Iran. The strike was a response to a massive attack by Iran on Israeli territory on October 1.
The first wave of attacks focused on missile production and air defense systems facilities. At the same time, the IDF did not target the enemy's oil and gas infrastructure or nuclear facilities.
According to media reports, Israeli forces hit two secret military bases.
Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the strike and emphasized the country's right to self-defense. Meanwhile, through an intermediary in Tehran, officials stated that they do not plan a retaliatory strike.
