Israel strikes targets related to missile production in Iran
According to Israeli Channel 12, the first wave of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory targeted missile production facilities and air defense systems, reports The Times of Israel.
All three major Israeli television channels reported a second wave of Israeli strikes on Iran. Channel 12 cites reports from non-governmental media in Iran indicating that the targets of the Israeli strikes are located in eastern Tehran and at a command post of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Local media report that four more explosions were heard in eastern Tehran and that air defense systems remain active in the capital.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held a phone call with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant, according to a spokesperson for the US Department of Defense. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, did not disclose the details of the conversation.
On Saturday, October 26, Israel launched strikes on targets in Iran in response to a massive ballistic missile attack against Israel earlier in October. Reports indicated a series of explosions in Tehran and other cities. The IDF officially confirmed the attack, stating that precise strikes were being carried out against Iranian military targets.
