Mass drone attack on Sumy, reports of strikes and blaze

The Russian army is carrying out a massive attack on the city of Sumy using Shahed combat drones. Explosions were reported, according to the Acting Mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar.
“Currently, the city of Sumy is under one of the largest attacks by enemy UAVs. The explosions you heard earlier were strikes on one of the local district offices,” Kobzar said.
According to him, a fire broke out at the impact site. No casualties have been reported.
He also warned of a renewed threat of drone strikes, urging residents, when possible, to stay in safe locations.

Meanwhile, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, noted that the massive Russian attack on the Sumy region has been ongoing for nearly a day.
“Enemy UAVs have again struck the territory of the Sumy community. There were also impacts in the Romny community,” he reported.
Preliminary information indicates that there are no casualties in either community, although details are still being confirmed.
Assessment and recovery operations are ongoing at the impact sites.

On the evening of Sunday, August 24, the Russian army once again launched Shahed combat drones into Ukrainian territory. The drones entered Ukrainian airspace from the northern direction.
Explosions were already reported in Kharkiv. However, as of 00:50, no casualties or damage had been reported.
