After the overnight Russian attack on June 28, explosive ordnance disposal specialists removed a missile warhead that had fallen close to a residential high-rise in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district, according to the press service of the Kyiv police.
Information about a dangerous object was reported to law enforcement by residents of a nearby apartment building in the Darnytskyi district.
Police officers from the district department promptly arrived at the scene, evacuated residents of the adjacent building, secured the area, and cordoned off the dangerous site until explosives experts arrived.
Specialists from the capital’s explosives unit, together with State Emergency Service (DSNS) responders, carried out the removal of the missile warhead.
The hazardous object was carefully excavated from the ground and transported for disposal at a specialized training range.

The Kyiv Police are urging citizens that in case of finding suspicious or explosive objects, they should not approach or touch them and must immediately report the find to the emergency numbers 102 or 101.
Attack on Kyiv
As a reminder, during the night of June 28, Russian forces launched several ballistic missiles toward Kyiv. Explosions were heard in the capital.
In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, fires broke out at several locations as a result of the attack. One person was injured.
Another fire occurred near a residential building, while an auto repair shop also caught fire at another location. A non-residential building was also burning.
Overall, on the night of June 28, Russia attacked Ukraine with anti-ship and ballistic missiles, as well as 142 strike drones. Air defense forces managed to intercept the majority of enemy targets.
At the same time, impacts of one missile and 14 strike drones were recorded at 11 locations, along with debris from downed targets falling at 13 locations.
