Ending the war as soon as possible is a direct order from the Ukrainian President. And bringing the hostilities to an end before winter is a realistic goal, stated the Head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov, at the international forum Security Architecture.
"I confirm that this is indeed his effort — to stop hostilities as soon as possible, preferably before winter. And I, as the Head of the Presidential Office, will definitely do everything to achieve the goal set by the President. In my view, it is absolutely correct, timely, and well-considered," Budanov said.
When asked by journalists whether such a goal is realistic, Budanov answered affirmatively: "Realistic."
According to him, Ukraine has sufficient capabilities to attempt to implement this plan in practice.
He noted that Russia may refuse; however, there are currently real signs that the groundwork for ending hostilities already exists.
The hot phase of the war may end before winter
Recall that last week, after a meeting between the President and the Servant of the People faction, it became known that Ukraine expects hostilities to end by November. According to a source cited by RBC-Ukraine, this is linked to electoral processes in the United States.
In November, midterm elections to the US Congress will take place, where Republicans are expected to face significant challenges. Therefore, the US administration may try to achieve progress on the war in Ukraine in order to boost approval ratings.
In the near future, envoys of the US President are expected to visit Kyiv, and they will also travel to Moscow.
However, American media report that the Kremlin is tired of these visits by envoys and wants a more stable negotiation process.
