War in Ukraine disappearing from public view is fatal - Baerbock
The Russian war against Ukraine is currently disappearing from the public's view and that is fatal, according to the German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, as quoted by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Currently, attention to Ukraine is disappearing from the public's view - that is fatal," said Baerbock.
According to her, Russia continues to deliberately attack Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, so it is necessary to work on making Ukraine's winter defense stronger.
The head of the German Foreign Ministry also said that Ukraine's future lies in the EU and NATO. Therefore, everything possible must be done to support it on this path.
In her opinion, the Ukraine-NATO Council will bring the country closer to membership in the Alliance.
"NATO standards, force and resource planning, and armed forces reform are central to this process. For this purpose, Germany is investing an additional 11.5 million euros in the Ukraine-NATO Trust Fund," added Baerbock.
Ukraine-NATO Council
The Ukraine-NATO Council was established following the NATO summit in Vilnius in July 2023. The first meeting of foreign ministers of the NATO-Ukraine Council is taking place on November 28-29. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will also participate in it.
According to NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, the foreign ministers of NATO countries will provide recommendations to Ukraine at the meeting regarding reforms for accession to the Alliance.
