Walz accepts nomination for US Vice President from Democratic Party
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has officially accepted the nomination for Vice President of the United States from the Democratic Party, citing Bloomberg.
The nomination took place on the third day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
In his speech, Walz emphasized that it was a great honor for him to be chosen for this position, noting that their love united all those present at the convention for their country.
Walz spoke about his childhood in a small town, his service in the military, and his career as a public school teacher, highlighting his commitment to supporting the middle class.
He promised that the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, if elected, would lower taxes for middle-class families, make housing more affordable, and take action against big pharmaceutical companies.
"No matter who you are, Kamala Harris is going to stand up and fight for your freedom to live the life that you want to lead, because that’s what we want for ourselves and it’s what we want for our neighbors," Walz said, concluding his speech.
Harris - US presidential candidate
Kamala Harris entered the presidential race following US President Joe Biden's decision not to run after unsuccessful debates with Donald Trump. This sparked panic among Democrats and Biden's supporters, as many began to doubt his chances of winning the upcoming election.
Harris made history in the US as the first woman of color to be nominated for the presidency by one of the major parties.
Recently, she symbolically accepted the nomination as the Democratic Party's candidate for president.
