Volunteer injured by explosive near school in Kupiansk in Kharkiv region

In Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, a 45-year-old female volunteer was injured after stepping on an unidentified explosive device on the steps of a school. Police evacuated her from the site, the Kharkiv Regional Police reports.
The incident occurred on September 21.
According to police, the woman stepped on an unknown object at the school entrance. The explosion caused blast injuries and a leg fracture.
“Police officers evacuated the injured woman from Kupiansk to a safer location and handed her over to medics, who transported her to the hospital,” the statement says.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 438 (war crimes) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Police emphasize the high mine danger in areas where active hostilities continue. Citizens are urged not to approach suspicious objects and to immediately report them by calling 101 or 102.
Situation in Kupiansk
In recent weeks, the situation on the Kupiansk front has significantly worsened. Russian forces have attempted to infiltrate the city through underground communications, but all attempts have been repelled.
Enemy shelling of pipelines and other passages has not stopped their efforts to capture the city.
Recently, rumors spread that Russian troops had reached the city center, but the Ukrainian side debunked this information - there are no Russian troops in central Kupiansk.
Currently, the enemy is conducting offensive actions simultaneously in several areas of the Kupiansk direction, including near Novoosynove and Nova Kruhliakivka. However, they achieved no success. Ukrainian forces are repelling all attacks and preventing Russians from securing positions in the city.
According to captured Russian soldiers, enemy commanders are ordering executions of civilian men in Kupiansk, while using women and children as human shields.
