Russian soldiers received orders from their commanders to shoot civilians, including men in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region. Enemy prisoners of war have confirmed this, Colonel Oleh Sushynskyi, Spokesperson for the North military grouping of Ukrainian Armed Forces, reports.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russian prisoners have testified about this.

“They (Russians - ed.) confirm that they received clear orders from their commanders to shoot civilians, particularly men. Women and children were to be used as ‘human shields,’” Sushynskyi said.

Situation in Kupiansk

In recent weeks, the situation in the Kupiansk direction has worsened. Russian forces are attempting to penetrate the city through underground utilities.

Their attempts are constantly repelled, the pipes are shelled, but the enemy does not stop trying to seize Kupiansk.
