The situation in the Kupiansk direction remains tense. Russian forces are demonstrating false maps showing control over areas leading to the city, according to the 10th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

"The situation in the Kupiansk direction remains tense. The city is a strategic target for the enemy," the corps wrote.

It is also known that Ukrainian defenders damaged and flooded a gas pipeline that the Russian soldiers were using to move toward Kupiansk.

When the enemy switched tactics, using boats and rafts to cross the Oskil River, most of these attempts were destroyed by Ukrainian artillery, mortars, and FPV drones.

However, small groups of enemy infantry, often in civilian clothes, which constitutes another Russian war crime, are still operating, according to the 10th Army Corps.

"Our soldiers conduct counter-sabotage operations, block and eliminate the enemy in forests, cottage areas, and on the outskirts of the city," the military wrote.

It is also reported that captured Russian soldiers confirm the absence of a clear combat order among the soldiers.

"Despite propaganda and color maps, what the enemy calls controlled is actually a fighting zone and zone of the work of Ukrainian assault groups. Fighting is dynamic, and claims of full control are premature," emphasized the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

Fighting for Kupiansk

The Center for Countering Disinformation stated that there are no Russian forces in the center of Kupiansk, despite propaganda claims circulating online.

An operation is ongoing in the northern part of the city to eliminate enemy units that have infiltrated Kupiansk.

The enemy used gas pipelines to approach the city, which Ukrainian forces repeatedly blew up and damaged. Russian soldiers moved along these pipes on makeshift carts with wheels and electric scooters.

Later, the Russian forces tried to reach Kupiansk using rafts and boats across the Oskil River.

However, small groups of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance units still manage to enter Kupiansk, often disguised as civilians. Locals, however, are able to recognize them by their accents.
