A counter-sabotage operation is underway in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, with search operations ongoing and a large number of Russians eliminated. There are no enemy forces in the city center, Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CPD), and Andriy Besedin, Head of the City Military Administration, report.

“As of now, there are no Russians in the center of Kupiansk. Heavy fighting for the city continues,” Kovalenko stated.

Commenting on the situation around Kupiansk, Besedin said that Ukraine’s Defense Forces are keeping the situation under maximum control, putting up strong resistance, and trying to prevent the enemy from entering the city.

“Unfortunately, this is possible, since the frontline is quite close - less than a kilometer from Kupiansk’s outskirts,” the Head of the City Military Administration noted.

According to Besedin, approximately 1,740 residents currently remain in the Kupiansk community, including 734 on the city’s right bank. There is no water, gas, or electricity, social infrastructure is absent, and its restoration is practically impossible.

Earlier reports claimed Russian forces had already reached the city center and fighting was taking place there.

Situation in Kupiansk

Recently, the news emerged that Russians had reached the center of Kupiansk, and fighting was ongoing there. However, a Spokesperson for the Dnipro Operational-Strategic Grouping of Ukrainian Troops, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksii Bielskyi, assured that such information was false.

According to Lieutenant Colonel, operations continue in the northern part of the city to block and destroy Russian troops who infiltrated Kupiansk.

The situation in Kupiansk worsened after Russian forces managed to approach the city using underground utility pipes.

Analysts from the DeepState project reported that the enemy used special wheeled platforms and electric scooters to move underground.

Earlier, Commander of the 429th Separate Regiment of Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Achilles, Yuriy Fedorenko, reported that a significant number of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are present in the city.
