"We are counting on the next meeting, and it would be right to hold it already in February. It is important that Europeans were present — France, Britain, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland as the host country. Here in Ukraine, we have always promoted the position that Europe must be a participant in the process,” he noted.
The president said he had spoken several times today with the Ukrainian delegation in Geneva and stressed that Ukraine is interested in achieving results.
"As of today, we cannot say that the result is sufficient. The military representatives discussed part of the issues — seriously and substantively. Sensitive political matters, issues of possible compromises, and the necessary meeting of leaders have not yet been sufficiently worked out," Zelenskyy said.
He also stated that he had instructed the Ukrainian negotiators to discuss the humanitarian track.
"We need prisoner-of-war exchanges and the release of civilians. For every individual, we are seeking information and are always working to bring our people back — to bring Ukrainians home. Every exchange matters," the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
Talks in Geneva
Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Ukraine and Russia have already agreed on the next round of peace negotiations. However, no details regarding the date or venue have been provided.
This was also confirmed by the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, who said that the next round of Ukraine-Russia talks would take place "soon." He also cynically joked about his historical lectures during the meeting, noting that he had "stopped at the Baptism of Rus."
Today, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the negotiations between Ukraine and the aggressor country in Geneva could have already reached the final stage, but Russia is attempting to drag them out.
