Viktor Orbán arrives in Moscow, set to meet with Putin
Today, July 5, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán arrived in Moscow for a visit. He plans to meet with Kremlin head Vladimir Putin, according to the Prime Minister's spokesperson Bertalan Havasi.
"Prime Minister Viktor Orbán arrived in Moscow as part of his peace mission. He will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin," the spokesperson said.
Orbán's visit to Kyiv
On July 2, Orbán arrived in Kyiv for the first time in more than 10 years. His visit was prompted by Budapest's presidency of the European Union.
During the meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the parties discussed a global cooperation agreement between the countries. Orbán proposed to his colleague to cease fire before starting peace negotiations with Russia.
Deputy Head of the President's Office Ihor Zhovkva noted that Hungary is not the only country that has made a similar initiative. Zelenskyy listened to Orbán but expressed his point of view in response.
