Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency, Věra Jourová, arrived in Kyiv on a working visit on Monday, November 27, reported on her X social media.

"I am glad I could come to Kyiv. With our Ukrainian friends, I will discuss their initiatives in view of enlargement, especially on anti-corruption," Jourová wrote.

She also emphasized that the EU will support Ukraine "for as much as it takes, for as long as it takes."

Negotiations on Ukraine's EU accession

Last week, the European Commission published a progress report on Ukraine and other candidate countries on the path to EU accession.

In particular, the Commission recommended starting accession negotiations with Ukraine but with the condition of implementing the reforms outlined in the report.

For negotiations to begin, this decision must be supported by all EU leaders. They will consider this issue at the summit scheduled for December 14.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the decision to start negotiations with Ukraine regarding accession to the European Union is motivational.
