The United States is already working to arrange a meeting between the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The United States is working on a meeting (between Zelenskyy and Putin — ed.). They have proposals," the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
The head of state said the talks could take place in a Middle Eastern country.
Trump's team has already suggested several options, including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
The meeting could also be held in the United States during the G20 summit, but neither Washington nor Moscow has confirmed this so far.
"This meeting could take place in one of the European countries. I know that Europeans are beginning to make contacts regarding this. We'll see the results a little later," Zelenskyy concluded.
Putin still refuses to meet with Zelenskyy
The Ukrainian president has repeatedly proposed holding one-on-one talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Zelenskyy believes such a meeting could help end the war meaningfully.
The Ukrainian leader has stressed that he is willing to travel to any neutral country, but Putin has rejected all proposed options.
The Kremlin chief continues to insist that he will meet with Zelenskyy only in Moscow.
The Ukrainian president and Putin have met in person only once, on December 9, 2019, in Paris during a Normandy-format summit attended by the leaders of France and Germany.
Following the Normandy-format talks, Putin and Zelenskyy held a separate bilateral meeting. They discussed, among other issues, a settlement to the war in Donbas.
Earlier, Zelenskyy warned Ukrainians and the international community about Putin's new plan for Belarus and western Ukraine.
The president also announced a new meeting with Trump's team to end the war.
