US will announce new military aid to Ukraine in coming days - Defense Secretary
The US plans to announce new military aid to Ukraine. This is expected to happen in the coming days, according to a statement from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin during a press conference.
The US Secretary of Defense emphasized that the deployment of North Korean soldiers to Russia reflects the desperation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as his plans to continue the war against Ukraine.
According to Austin, the US will continue to ramp up military assistance to Ukrainian defenders, along with their allies in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
"This includes artillery, air defense, armored vehicles, ammunition, and other crucial capabilities. The United States will announce additional security assistance for Ukraine in the coming days," the Defense Secretary added.
US assistance to Ukraine
It is important to note that the US is a key ally of Ukraine, and since the onset of the full-scale war, Washington has provided a significant amount of weapons and other assistance.
Specifically, on October 21, during his visit to Kyiv, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced that the US is providing a new aid package to Ukraine, which includes weapons worth $400 million.
The package includes M113 armored personnel carriers, ammunition for HIMARS rocket systems, and more.
