Pentagon reveals contents of $400 million package for Ukraine
The United States has announced the 68th package of military assistance to Ukraine, which includes weapons and military equipment, according to the Office of the President.
As clarified by the Office of the President, the new package will include ammunition, military equipment, and weaponry.
Austin assured that support under the security agreement between the United States and Ukraine will continue.
"I thank the American people and President Biden. I am also grateful for the bipartisan support: we greatly appreciate everything that has been done since the start of this war," said Zelenskyy.
At the same time, a letter from the Pentagon to the media indicated that the new package includes ammunition for HIMARS and artillery ammunition.
Funds are also allocated for training equipment and satellite communication equipment.
What’s in the package:
- Additional ammunition for HIMARS systems
- 155-mm and 105-mm artillery ammunition
- 60-mm, 81-mm, and 120-mm mortar ammunition
- TOW anti-tank missile systems
- Javelin anti-tank missile systems and AT-4 grenade launchers
- M113 armored personnel carriers
- Satellite communication equipment
- Small arms and ammunition
- Grenades and training equipment
- Equipment and ammunition for demolition work
- Equipment for protecting critical infrastructure
- Spare parts, auxiliary equipment, training services, and transportation.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin arrived in Kyiv today for an unplanned visit.
US assistance to Ukraine
On October 16, US President Joe Biden announced a new military aid package to Ukraine worth $425 million.
Additionally, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the United States would provide Ukraine with several military assistance packages between October and December, with a total value ranging from $500 million to $750 million.
