The Yemeni TV channel Al Masirah, affiliated with the Houthis, reported that US forces carried out two strikes on the city of Hodeidah.
Meanwhile, the Houthis launched a second attack on the US aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman in the northern Red Sea.
According to a Houthi representative, the attack involved ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones and lasted several hours.
A Houthi member also claimed they thwarted a US counterattack and reiterated their commitment to blocking Israeli ships from passing through the Aden Strait and the Red Sea.
US-Houthi tensions escalate
In recent days, US President Donald Trump ordered attacks on positions of the Houthi group in Yemen. The reason was a series of terrorist attacks on civilian commercial ships off the coast of the Middle Eastern country.
According to preliminary reports, the first airstrikes killed 31 people. Trump's national security adviser, Michael Waltz, stated that the US strikes were targeted and ultimately eliminated several Houthi leaders.
In response, the Houthis launched ballistic missiles and drones at the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea.
Iran also threatened the US with retaliatory strikes.
In January, Trump signed an order designating the Houthi group in Yemen as a terrorist organization.
