Iran reacts to Trump's decision to attack Yemen

US launches massive strikes on Houthi forces in Yemen after attacks on ships in the Red Sea. Iran responds to Washington's actions, according to Reuters.
US President Donald Trump orders massive military strikes on Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen after a series of attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
Preliminary reports indicate at least 31 casualties from the initial airstrikes. The US president also called on Iran to immediately halt its support for the Houthis.
"America will hold you fully accountable and, we won't be nice about it!" – said Trump.
In response, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, emphasized that the Houthis act independently and make their own strategic and military decisions.
"We warn our enemies that Iran will respond decisively and destructively if they take their threats into action," he said in a statement to state media.
According to Reuters, the US campaign against the Houthis could last for weeks, making it the largest military operation in the Middle East for the United States since Trump took office in January.
At the same time, the US is increasing sanctions pressure on Iran, seeking to force it to negotiate over its nuclear program.
Strikes on targets in Yemen
Recall that during the early days of his presidency this year, Donald Trump signed an order regarding the Yemeni Houthis. The group was listed as a foreign terrorist organization under the US Immigration and Nationality Act.
Additionally, President Donald Trump announced that the US began large-scale military strikes on dozens of targets in Yemen on Saturday.
