The IAEA confirmed that the United States carried out missile strikes on several nuclear facilities on the territory of Iran. In particular, some of the structures were significantly damaged.

The main attack was directed at facilities in the city of Esfahan, where important uranium processing infrastructures are located. According to preliminary data, several structures were damaged, including entrances to underground tunnels.

After conducting an analysis, the IAEA confirmed significant destruction at the sites. In addition to Isfahan, strikes were also carried out on facilities in Fordow and Natanz — some of the key centers of Iran’s nuclear program.

According to the agency, the strike on Fordow was direct, while additional damage was recorded in Natanz.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that the underground parts of the Iranian nuclear facility in Fordow, located deep in the mountains, were likely subjected to "very significant damage."

"Given the explosive payload utilised and the extreme(ly) vibration-sensitive nature of centrifuges, very significant damage is expected to have occurred," Grossi said at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting on Monday.

However, despite the attack, the IAEA adds that there have been no reports of increased radiation levels outside the facilities.

On June 22, the United States struck three nuclear sites on Iranian territory. These facilities are located in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. The attack involved the use of specialized bunker-buster bombs designed to target fortified sites.

On Sunday evening, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the United States had successfully destroyed Iran’s nuclear program entirely.

Later, US President Donald Trump confirmed this information, noting that all key facilities had suffered "monumental damage."

At the same time, several media outlets pointed out that although the facilities were indeed damaged, it is still too early to speak of the complete destruction of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

Recently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested that Fordow may have withstood the American strikes.
