US shutdown could delay weapons deliveries to Ukraine — The Telegraph

Ukrainian-American negotiations on arms supplies may be frozen due to the US government shutdown, The Telegraph reports.
Ukrainian-American negotiations
Negotiations between Ukraine and the US on military aid and cooperation in the field of drones have been put on hold after hundreds of thousands of federal officials were forced to take unpaid leave. Because of this, says The Telegraph, negotiations on arms supplies to Ukraine are currently at risk.
In addition, other Ukrainian delegations that were supposed to arrive at the White House in the coming weeks to discuss other issues are now revising their plans.
This applies, in particular, to the delegation that was negotiating with Washington on a major drone deal, under which Ukraine plans to sell its own drones to the US.
Shutdown in US
On October 1, the US federal government partially suspended its work. The country went into shutdown because Republicans and Democrats failed to reach an agreement on budget spending. According to estimates by US President Donald Trump's economic advisers, the country could lose $15 billion a week.
In addition, the Trump administration will begin mass layoffs of US government employees in the coming days.
