US Secretary of State reveals who to assume role of US Special Representative for Ukraine Recovery
Richard Verma, Deputy Secretary of State, will fulfill the duties of the US Special Representative for Ukraine Recovery following Penny Pritzker's departure from the position, according to a statement from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
According to the Secretary of State, Pritzker’s tenure as the US Special Representative for Ukraine Recovery was limited to one year, but "her work will continue."
"Deputy Secretary of State for Management & Resources Richard Verma will carry forward her work in service of the United States’ efforts to support Ukraine’s economic recovery," Blinken stated.
He also assured that the US government aims to help Ukraine stand on its feet—militarily, economically, and democratically.
Blinken reminded that among Pritzker’s achievements are her support for providing Ukraine with approximately $9 billion as part of the latest funding package approved in the US, assistance in establishing the Advisory Council on Business within the G7+ donor platform, and more.
