Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called his conversation with US President Donald Trump on July 4 the best since they began communicating.

"Probably, this was the best conversation in all this time, extremely productive. We discussed air defense issues, and I am grateful for the willingness to help," the President said.

Zelenskyy also announced a decision to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. First of all, this concerns the Patriot air defense systems.

"The Patriot system is the key to protection against ballistic missiles. We discussed several other important issues, which our teams will work on in detail during meetings in the near future," he added.

It should be noted that after the conversation between the two presidents on July 4, Trump confirmed that the US is considering providing Kyiv with additional missiles for the Patriot air defense systems. These systems are the main force of Ukraine's air defense.

The conversation took place against the backdrop of the US suspending some weapons supplies to Ukraine on July 1. The Pentagon's decision affected missiles for the Patriot systems.

Regarding additional air defense systems, Ukraine may receive them from Germany. Berlin is prepared to finance the delivery of two Patriot systems to Ukraine, pending approval of their sale.
