US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll will arrive in Kyiv this week to finalize steps toward ending the war, according to Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

He informed that he had just spoken with Driscoll and expressed his gratitude for the substantive and constructive conversation.

“As determined by President Trump, we expect the Secretary of the Army to arrive in Kyiv this week, and we are ready to continue working as quickly as possible to finalize the steps necessary to end the bloodshed,” Yermak wrote.

The head of the Presidential Office emphasized that a strong foundation has been laid in Geneva and that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the entire team in Kyiv are fully committed to continued work.

In addition, Yermak announced that a meeting of the countries’ leaders will be prepared promptly.

“Ukraine has never been and will never be an obstacle to peace. We are grateful to the US for all its support. The meeting of the presidents will be prepared on our side thoroughly and without delay,” the head of the Presidential Office concluded.

Trump’s peace plan

Recently, Western media published a new US peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. It consisted of 28 points, included steps painful for Ukraine, and was viewed as favorable to Russia.

In this connection, on Sunday, November 23, a meeting was held in Geneva between delegations from Ukraine, the US, and Europe to revise the document’s provisions and make it more advantageous for Kyiv.

According to the Financial Times, the peace plan was shortened from 28 points to 19. There was also information that Ukraine had supposedly agreed to reduce the size of its Armed Forces, but only to 800,000 troops.

Today, US President Donald Trump already announced that his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, will hold negotiations with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, and Daniel Driscoll will meet with the Ukrainian side to advance coordination of the peace plan between the US, Ukraine, and Russia.

As is known, Trump gave Ukraine an ultimatum — to agree to the document by November 27. However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the deadline could still be moved.

Rubio also clarified that the final details of the plan would be settled at an in-person meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy. Today, Andriy Yermak announced that Zelenskyy is ready to meet as soon as possible, and this could already happen on November 27.
