The United States and Israel will gain full control over Iran’s airspace in "under a week," stated Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, The Guardian reports.
According to him, in less than a week, "two most powerful air forces in the world (the US and Israel - ed.) will have complete control of Iranian skies, uncontested air space."
“We will fly all day, all night, day and night, finding, fixing, and finishing the missiles and defence industrial base of the Iranian military,” Hegseth said.
The Pentagon chief also noted that the US and Israel will find and eliminate all leaders and military commanders of Iran.
"Flying over Tehran, flying over Iran, flying over their capital, flying over the IRGC, Iranian leaders looking up and seeing only US and Israeli air power. Every minute of every day until we decide it’s over. And Iran will be able to do nothing about it," he added.
US-Israel operation against Iran
The large-scale military campaign by the US and Israel against Iran began on February 28, 2026.
The White House justified the start of hostilities as necessary to neutralize Tehran’s nuclear and missile programs, as well as to eliminate threats to American bases and allies in the region.
The Pentagon confirmed that, despite the lack of intelligence suggesting an imminent Iranian attack immediately before the operation, the strategic programs of the Iranian regime posed a critical threat.
During massive US air and naval strikes on military facilities and command centers, the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several officials were confirmed.
On Sunday, March 1, US President Donald Trump officially outlined the timeframe of the military campaign against Iran, stating that the active combat phase would last no more than four weeks.
Israel also stated that any new leader appointed by the Iranian regime to replace Ali Khamenei would be an unequivocal target for elimination.
