US reviews Ukraine's victory plan, considers 'additional actions' - Blinken
The United States is reviewing Ukraine's victory plan, which Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented to Joe Biden. The US is also considering "additional actions" if necessary, according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, as quoted by Voice of America.
At a press conference in New York on September 27, Blinken stated that the United States had increased its aid to Ukraine, announcing a package worth over $8 billion.
"We took important steps to support the people of Ukraine as they continue to defend themselves against the ongoing Russian aggression and continue to stand up for their sovereignty and their independence, their right to write their own future," he said.
The Secretary of State noted that the US is studying Ukraine's victory plan. When asked if Ukraine would receive permission to use Western weapons for strikes deep into Russia, Blinken responded that the administration and its partners are now examining the details of this plan and, if necessary, are considering "additional actions" to help Ukrainians achieve victory.
"We are studying it very carefully, and that includes what, if any, additional things we or other partners of Ukraine would be called on to do in order to help them achieve that success," Blinken added.
