The administration of US President Donald Trump has resumed the delivery of certain types of weapons to Ukraine, according to the Associated Press (AP).

Two US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that Ukraine is once again receiving 155mm ammunition and precision-guided GMLRS rockets.

The exact date when the weapons deliveries resumed has not been specified. This information has not been officially confirmed.

Three individuals familiar with the situation told AP that President Donald Trump, in private conversations, expressed dissatisfaction with the Pentagon’s public announcement of the delivery pause, which had not been coordinated with the White House.

However, the US Department of Defense denied that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth acted without consulting the president.

The agency also recalled that, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the United States has provided Ukraine with military aid and weapons worth over $67 billion.

US weapons deliveries to Ukraine resume

According to several Western media outlets, Ukraine stopped receiving some weapons from the US last week, including air defense missiles and precision-guided munitions.

The White House stated that the decision was made to review weapons stockpiles at US warehouses, and applied not only to Ukraine but to other countries as well.

Following a phone call with President Zelenskyy on July 3, Trump announced an increase in military assistance to Ukraine.

The president also stated that Vladimir Putin is responsible for numerous civilian deaths.

Trump did not rule out the possibility of sending another Patriot air defense system to Ukraine.

In addition, he said he hadn’t thought about who decided to pause weapons transfers to Ukraine.

According to media reports, the decision to suspend the deliveries was made by Pete Hegseth, who allegedly did so without informing either Trump or Congress.
