Ukrainian-made drones have caught the interest of the United States – American military officials have officially tested the drones for the first time and are considering opportunities for a strategic partnership with Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
To this end, representatives of the US Navy and the US Department of Defense conducted two official visits to Ukraine, during which they familiarized themselves with Ukrainian maritime drones, their technical specifications, and carried out initial test trials in collaboration with domestic manufacturers.
Ukrainian engineers and manufacturers offered solutions that have already proven their effectiveness in special operations and combat conditions. This allows for showcasing the real capabilities of Ukrainian drones and their potential for international cooperation.
Experts note that Ukraine’s defense industry is actively shaping the global market for unmanned systems and integrating into the international security architecture. Thanks to practical experience gained from modern warfare, Ukrainian developments are becoming a key element of strategic partnership with the US and other allies.
Thus, Ukraine continues to strengthen its position in the high-tech defense sector, demonstrating readiness for extensive international cooperation and the development of innovative military technologies.
US wants to buy Ukrainian drones
During an official meeting at the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump stated that his country is interested in Ukrainian drones and plans to purchase them.
Moreover, during that conversation, the possibility of exchanging Ukrainian unmanned systems for US Tomahawk missiles or other weaponry was raised, but it remained unrealized.
It was also reported that Ukraine is preparing to sign an agreement with the US on the transfer of drone production technology, which has already been tested in combat conditions.
