US reaffirms readiness to aid Ukraine - State Department

The US remains the strongest supporter of Ukraine in the world and will continue to assist Kyiv for as long as needed, states US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce.
According to her, the recent discussions about suspending arms deliveries to Ukraine should not be seen as a shift in US policy or position.
“We have been and remain Ukraine’s biggest supporters. We care about those people. We care about making sure that they have what they need. The President has been very vocal about the wholesale slaughter that has been going on and how it has to stop, how there has to be a ceasefire, and how it’s – it has to be between the two parties,” Bruce said.
She reminded that US weapons deliveries to Ukraine have resumed and that President Donald Trump is deeply concerned and firmly committed to ensuring Ukrainians have the means to defend themselves.
“So again, we’ve been helping them, we’ll continue to help them. It’s a pretty tough situation. And so that is – that’s our position,” the State Department spokesperson emphasized.
Suspension of US arms supplies to Ukraine
On July 2, Politico reported that the US allegedly suspended deliveries of certain types of weapons to Ukraine, specifically missiles for air defense systems and precision-guided munitions.
The White House clarified that the decision to pause supplies applies to all countries worldwide due to a significant depletion of weapons stocks.
The Guardian noted that the suspension was related to a shortage of missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
On July 8, US President Donald Trump stated that Putin is killing many people, and therefore, the US will send more defensive weapons to Ukraine.
During a phone call, Trump promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the delivery of 10 interceptors for Patriot missile systems.
