US reacts after Russian drone hits residential building in Romania

The United States condemns the incursion of a Russian drone into Romanian territory that resulted in a strike on an apartment building in the city of Galați, US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated.
According to him, the United States stands with Romania and condemns the incursion of a Russian drone into its territory.
"We stand with our NATO Ally Romania and condemn this reckless incursion on its territory. Our thoughts are with the injured in Galați. We will defend every inch of NATO territory," Whitaker said.
Russian drone hits apartment building in Romania
During another Russian attack on Ukraine on the night of May 29, one of the Russian drones crossed the border and crashed into the roof of an apartment building in the Romanian city of Galați.
As a result of the strike, an apartment on the 10th floor caught fire. Two people were injured and received assistance at the scene. Emergency services quickly extinguished the fire.
Romania's Ministry of National Defense determined that the apartment building in Galați was hit by a Russian Geran-2 drone.
At the same time, the military said it did not have enough time to intercept the Russian drone.
According to Brigadier General Gheorghe Maxim, only four minutes passed between the detection of the target and its impact.
NATO has already condemned the Russian drone strike on the apartment building in Romania, a member of the Alliance.
