US president outlines what he expects from Putin at summit

US President Donald Trump stated that during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, he wants to achieve a swift ceasefire. Trump said he "would not be happy" if it does not happen.
"I want certain things. I want to see a ceasefire," the US President said.
Trump added that Europe and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be involved in the further peace process. But that will come later: regarding the Anchorage summit, the president wants to "see ceasefire rapidly" as a result of this meeting.
"I don't know if it's going to be today, but I'm not going to be happy if it's not today. Everyone said it can't be today, but I'm just saying I want the killing to stop. I'm in this to stop the killing," he said.
Trump-Putin meeting: What is known
The start of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska is scheduled for 10:00 PM Kyiv time. The meeting is expected to last six or seven hours.
It is known that Trump will personally greet Putin upon his arrival in Anchorage. The summit itself will take place behind closed doors, with official statements and press conferences for both sides following afterward.
Ukraine will assess the results of the Alaska summit according to three of its own criteria. At the same time, Kyiv will not engage in any bargaining with representatives of the Russian regime. RBC-Ukraine has already outlined three scenarios that Ukraine may face after the Trump-Putin talks.
