Putin to get red-carpet welcome in Alaska as Trump meets him personally, NBC News

US President Donald Trump is preparing to personally meet Russian president Vladimir Putin at Elmendorf-Richardson base, reports NBC News.
According to two senior administration officials, Trump is expected to roll out the red carpet for Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who will arrive at Elmendorf-Richardson base on Friday, and personally plans to greet the Russian leader upon his arrival.
Officials stressed that the exact details and schedule of the meeting have not yet been finalized.
Preliminarily, according to a third senior administration official, Trump does not plan to call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or European leaders before Friday’s meeting.
However, it is unknown whether this might change during his lengthy seven-hour flight from Washington to Alaska.
