US opposes frozen conflict between Ukraine and Russia - Presidential Office Head

Ukraine will not accept a frozen conflict with Russia, and the US fully supports this stance, Presidential Office Head Andriy Yermak said.
"We have been very clear that we will never agree to a frozen conflict. We are firmly against it, and our position aligns completely with our American partners. They also reject a frozen conflict, as well as any Minsk-3 or agreements like the Budapest Memorandum," Yermak stated.
He described the recent Ukraine-US meeting in Saudi Arabia as highly successful. However, this is only the beginning. Ukraine still has a lot of work to do.
According to Yermak, Ukraine keeps European partners informed about the peace process and has agreed with Washington that European representatives will take part in negotiations.
Temporary ceasefire
A few days ago, Ukraine agreed to a 30-day ceasefire with Russia. This proposal was made by the United States.
According to RBC-Ukraine sources, Kyiv insisted that the ceasefire must be temporary to prevent a frozen conflict.
As Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha explained, the ceasefire could serve as the first step toward peace with Russia.
Meanwhile, Russian leader Vladimir Putin has a mixed attitude to the initiative, stating that he wants to discuss certain nuances with the US.
