US not to force Ukraine to hand over land to Putin - Secretary of State

Ukraine is not ready to give up its territories, and the United States is not pressuring Kyiv to hand over all the regions occupied by Russia, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reports.
During an interview with NBC, the US Secretary of State commented on possible scenarios for a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
Journalists asked whether the issue of transferring all of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as Crimea under the control of Russian leader Vladimir Putin had been discussed.
Rubio replied that Ukrainians are not ready to make such concessions and no one has the right to force them to yield.
According to the US Secretary of State, even if a peace agreement is reached, it will not include the transfer of these territories.
Rubio also said that Ukrainians were not ready to give this up and that no one was forcing Ukraine to give in. He added that if a peace agreement were reached, it would not be like that.
Putin’s demands
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is still demanding Ukraine’s withdrawal from Donbas.
At the same time, during a phone call with European allies, Trump said that Ukraine must decide for itself what to do with its territory.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy today emphasized that security guarantees for Ukraine from Trump are more important than Putin’s.
This statement came after yesterday, when the American President told European leaders that he was ready to provide Ukraine with American security guarantees.
At the same time, Rubio himself said today that in order to reach a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine, each side must receive something and give something.
