The United States can confidently say it has destroyed about one-third of Iran’s missile arsenal after nearly a month of war, according to Reuters.
The agency, referring to five sources, says the US can confirm the destruction of roughly one-third of Iran’s missiles, while the status of another third remains unclear.
It is noted that the missiles may have been destroyed, damaged, or buried under debris in underground tunnels and bunkers as a result of the bombing. One source emphasized that a similar situation applies to Iran’s drones.
Tehran still has significant weapons stockpiles
Reuters reports that Iran still retains a substantial arsenal and may be able to restore some of the damaged missiles after the fighting ends.
At the same time, the exact number of destroyed Iranian missiles and drones remains unknown, partly due to difficulties in assessing stockpiles in underground bunkers before the war. According to various estimates, Iran may have had between 2,500 and 6,000 missiles.
Experts believe the US may have overestimated the effectiveness of its strikes. Iran has more than ten large underground complexes for storing launchers and missiles, and some of them remain active.
War in Iran
Axios reported yesterday that the US may carry out a final large-scale strike on Iran. It could involve ground forces and bombing if diplomatic negotiations reach a deadlock. No decision has been made yet, but preparations are already underway.
At the same time, earlier US House Speaker Mike Johnson said that Washington is wrapping up Operation Epic Fury against Iran. According to him, the operation will end soon and on schedule.
