US continues to cooperate with Ukraine on victory plan and other measures - State Department
Washington continues to discuss a victory plan with Kyiv, initiated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. US authorities are also working on other measures in the context of American aid, states US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.
In a conversation with reporters, the American official did not specify his previous statement regarding the productive steps that US authorities see in the plan presented by Zelenskyy to his American counterpart, Joe Biden, during his visit to the US in September.
Miller refrained from detailing which points and provisions in the initiative were supported by the American side when pressed by journalists.
"No, I’m not going to get into the various details other than to say that we continue to engage with the Government of Ukraine about that plan," the US State Department representative said.
He added that Biden, in a phone call with Zelenskyy on October 16, obviously addressed the issue of Ukraine's victory plan in the war with Russia.
"I’m sure that that was one of the topics of conversation. And we continue to work with them about other measures that aren’t included in the plan that we believe would position Ukraine to win on the battlefield and ensure a just and lasting peace," Miller stated.
Ukraine's victory plan and the West's reaction
On October 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the victory plan to the public during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada for the first time. The plan consists of five points and includes confidential appendices that are not currently disclosed to the public.
The plan was previously presented to leaders of several countries, including the US, the UK, Germany, France, and Italy.
According to Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the President's Office, the secret appendices of the plan discuss strikes on Russian territory.
