US citizens view Walz more favorably than Vance, poll shows
The Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz received more favorable impressions from US citizens than his Republican opponent, JD Vance, according to The Washington Post - ABC News - Ipsos poll results.
The poll shows 39% of respondents favored and 30% unfavored Walz (the net is +9%). As for Vance's favorability rating, it is 32% and 42% respectively (the net is -10%). 26% and 31% of surveyed US citizens don’t have an opinion of each candidate.

Both candidates are well supported by their political parties. Vance’s favorability among Republicans is +55, while Walz’s approval among Democrats is +72.
The survey also says 52% of Americans approved Harris’s choice of Walz as the running mate, and 44% disapproved. As for Vance, he has 45% approval and 50% disapproval.
Among members of both parties, 92% of Democrats approved of Walz as Harris’s selection and 82% of Republican party members approved of Vance as Trump’s.

On August 6, the incumbent US Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, chose Minnesota governor Tim Walz as her running mate in the presidential campaign.
After being chosen as the vice presidential nominee, Walz was subjected to the Trump team's discrediting attacks. For instance, JD Vance started to criticize him for his military service.
