US and UK sign investment deal worth hundreds of billions: What’s known

US President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a massive investment deal worth hundreds of billions of pounds on September 18. The agreement provides for multibillion-dollar mutual investments in both the UK and the US, according to Time and the UK government website.
Starmer described the investment deal between the two countries as a record in terms of the funds planned to be invested by both sides. Total US investments in the UK will amount to £150 billion, while the UK will invest up to £100 billion in the US.
"What a day, 250 billion pounds (340 billion dollars - ed.) flowing both ways across the Atlantic… It is the biggest investment package of its kind in British history by a country mile," the British prime minister said.
US investments
It is reported that American investments will create over 7,600 new jobs across the UK. The deal also includes plans to build 12 new advanced nuclear reactors.
However, the investments will focus primarily on the artificial intelligence industry. Key US investments and investors include:
-
Blackstone will invest £100 billion in the UK over 10 years.

“These record-breaking investments will create thousands of high-quality jobs across the UK — from clean energy to advanced manufacturing. Working closely with the US strengthens our global position and delivers real results for British businesses,” said UK Business Secretary Peter Kyle.
